reserch 3

In addition to being a fashion designer, Jean-Paul Gaultier is known for a popular line of perfumes. His first fragrance, Classique, a women's floral-oriental, was introduced in 1993, followed by Le Mâle for men two years later. Both were highly successful, and Le Mâle is now the number-one men's fragrance in the European Union based on sales; it also holds a strong market position in Australia and the United States. His third fragrance, the women's fragrance Fragile, was introduced in 2000; however, it is now in limited distribution due to poor sales. In 2005, the unisex "fragrance for humanity" Gaultier (pronounced Gaultier to the power of two) was launched (except in Canada, where it was launched in January 2006, and the United States, where it was launched in August 2006). Most recently, Jean-Paul Gaultier's latest men's fragrance, Fleur du Mâle was launched in April 2007. Shortly thereafter, the "Eau de Cologne Fleur du Male" was released demonstrating a lighter version of the Fleur du Male. The newest in the Gaultier family of fragrances is ladies fragrance "Madame".

these Jean Paul Gautier campaigns for 'classique' are using the pin up girls era as their theme. the colors are generally neutral and the women's body's are emphasised as the bottle of the perfume is in the shape of a Corset

The demographic for this perfume would be Female, middle age. it would be a well educated woman living in the city in a busy high paying job with am A or B economic status.

i chose this advertisement as it is evidently inspired by retro pin up girl culture which is similar to my campaign ideas

Dolce & Gabbana, is an Italian luxury fashion house. The company was started by the Italian designers Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana in Milan, Italy. By 2005 their turnover was €750 million.Their clothing designs are usually blackin color and geometric in shape.

In this campaign for Dolce and Gabana, Scarlett Johnson, a famous actress models for their perfume- 'the one'. The campaign looks very classy, luxurious and expensive at the same time as being slightly provocative. they all have simple backgrounds and although the models cloths and hair is similar to the backdrop, they still stand out and the fact that almost everything blends in with the background just emphasise her face. the theme colours of each of the adverts is the colour of the perfume i.e the pink one is rose coloured and the black and white photograph is a silver bottle relates the perfume to the campaign.

the demographic of the perfume would be middle adged females with a high education looking for a classy but still feminine. it would be for high earners in the A demographic with a from major cities like paris, london or New York.

i chose this as the photographs are crisp and strong like i would like mine to look, and the cloths and positions Scarlett Johnson is in relates to the pin up girl era.

Miss Dior Chérie Commercial (French Version)

this advert realy inspired me for the 60s soft, vintage feel of my campagne, and aulthough it is a video, it still helped my production idea.

Parfums Christian Dior is the make-up and perfumery line of Christian Dior SA, based on the company created by twentieth-century fashion designer Christian Dior. It was created in 1947 with the launch of Miss Dior perfume. It features a comprehensive amount of masculine and feminine fragrances (some of which have been discontinued), as well as a set of colognes created for Dior Homme.

Chere, by Dior is is a very playful and girly campagne. it has a vintage feel in the pictures, and the models look generally pretty and sweet. they are very innocent looking and the ideas are almost child like. the models are dressed in simple yet beautiful cloths following the same feminine colour scheme of pastel colours and it all has a quite floral feel, and it is a very soft campagne, with no harsh edges or colors. you can tell it is set in paris as in the last campaign you can see the Parisian skyline, and also you can assume it is french from the brand and pastel colurs.

this advertisment demographic would proberbly be for people aged 15- 30 as it is a more girlie feminine and fun perfume. it would be for the ABC demographic earners with an high to average education of working- high class.

I chose this campagne as it relates to my ideas as it is very soft and girly, and manages too look almost vintage without looking dated.

i was going to do a simple style advertisement inspired by the jeargan teller champagnes for Marc Jacobs, but i decided to instead to change it to a new design. it is still simple, but not as simple inspired by the 50s pin up girls

For my bill board idea, i want to have my model lying down holding the perfume in a 50s outfit surrounded by vintage objects. I want the model to look flawless, but still like she belongs to the era.

for my magazine advertisements i will have two different ideas that are both different, but are related to each other as they are simple and have the same underlining theme of the 50s. for the first one i want a medium close up of the model. I want the model to look flawless, but still like she belongs to the era, so she will have the traditional cliche hair, make up and clothing but it will still look modern as the photograph will be sharp and it will be against a plain background. the bottom quarter of the advertisement will be white with a picture of the perfume in the right hand corner which in contrast has a bright modern label , however in a classic bottle. on the left the name and brand of the perfume is printed to give a clear message and keep the look of it clean.
For the next campagne, i plan to take 6 similar pictures and put it in a grid format. they will be similar pictures to that of the last magasine adverts- simple, medium close up, and in the same 50s style, but in one of the boxes there will be a picture of the perfume and in another it will have the name of the brand and perfume name.
